Approach to care
Dr Portia Predny (she/her) is a GP with more than 10 years experience looking after patients in Sydney and its surrounds.
She is a firm proponent of creating safe spaces in healthcare, where diversity is able to flourish.
Dr Portia practices Weight-Neutral health care, in a Health At Every Size framework, and strongly believes that working towards and maintaining good health is something that all people should have access to, regardless of shape, size, background, or identity.
She has a strong interest in Gender Affirming health care, and provides holistic care for trans and gender diverse individuals, including prescribing hormone therapies under the Informed Consent model of care.
Outside of work, Dr Portia is a mum (to both human and fur babies!) who loves spending time going on adventures with her family, and enjoying activities such as hiking, rock climbing, dancing, and dabbling in various creative pursuits!
Consultations
Dr Portia practices holistic health care with a “slow-medicine” approach - no rushed, 6-minute consults here! Instead, your appointment will be scheduled for a 30, 60 or 90 minute slot, depending on your needs, to allow for thorough assessment and person-centred management. Appointments can be made via the link below.
Please note: Referrals are not necessary to make an appointment with Dr Portia, however it is strongly recommended that patients develop or maintain a reationship with a more traditional GP clinic, in addition to seeing Dr Portia, for management of more routine or urgent issues (for example routine vaccinations, acute illnesses requiring urgent review, etc). Dr Portia will do her best to accommodate requests for urgent appointments, but this clinic does not accept walk-ins, and may not be able to arrange a same-day “fit-in” appointment for urgent issues that arise. For this reason, having access to another clinic to manage these concerns is advisable.
Service fees
Dr Portia Predny at Flourish Kirribilli is a Private Fee clinic. Medicare rebates apply to consultations and services for eligible patients. More information can be found here.
Initial Consultation - New Patient
New patients seeking to make an appointment to see Dr Portia will be booked into a New Patient consultation. This consultation is booked into a 90 minute appointment slot, to Dr Portia sufficient time to get to know you and your unique needs, and to allow you the opportunity to determine if Dr Portia’s approach is right for you.

Standard Consultations - Existing Patients
These consultations are for ongoing care, for patients who are already known to Dr Portia (from Flourish Kirribilli or from her previous practice). Standard consultations are available in 30 minute and 60 minute appointment slots.

Care Plan consultations - Existing Patients
These consultations are for the development and/or review/renewal of care plans, such as Mental Health Treatment Plans, Chronic Disease Management Plans, and Eating Disorder Treatment Plans. When booked online, these consultations will be booked into 30 minute appointment slots for reviews, and 60 minute appointment slots for new plans. If you think you might require a shorter or longer consultation than the default length when booking online, please contact reception.

Procedural Consultations - Existing Patients
These consultations are for procedures such as hormone implant insertions, and Implanon/contraceptive implant insertions. Appointment duration, fees and Medicare rebates for these consultations vary, and depend on the type of procedure.
